Rosendale The Dryad Скачать
Текст песни
A dryad slept soundly in peace
Under a great willow tree
A guardian of its roots and leaves
From its branches she would swing
One morning at the break of day
A woodsman barged into her glade
A swagger proud, a haughty gaze
As though the woods were his domain
He planted his feet firm and neat
At the trunk of the great tree
Axe in hand and gold in mind
He swung as hard as werewolves bite
The dryad begged, the dryad cried
For him to spare the tree in sight
But hubris is a mighty shield
No words could break his heart of steel
The giant tree came tumbling down
It cracked and split, a deafening sound
The dryad ran, she vowed to take
Sweet revenge on his mistake
Fighting tears in bloodshot eyes
She conjured all her mystic might
And formed a seed as small as grain
Filled with magic and her pain
She waited till the woodsman lay
Down to rest, such a long day
He stretched his feet, he yawned and snored
The seed into his mouth she poured
The woodsman squirmed, the woodsman screamed
His skin turned into oak and leaves
His legs grew tall, his arms grew wide
The largest branches one could spy
His feet now roots in soil dense
As deep as all his arrogance
But in the willow tree's remains
A new great tree now took its place
A dryad sleeps soundly in peace
Under a great willow tree
Her fairyland from dusk till dawn
His frozen prison made of bark
And all day long the dryad plays
Under the tree that she had made
On the smallest branch she never hangs
Where what little of his pride remains
