A cigarette

Wishing I was thinner
Pinch my thighs
Take a picture

Of the camp we make
The bones we break
Hair we braid
The sun we bathe in

To talk till late
Plan our escape
To the United States

Scrape my knee
So many flowers to pick

Realize that my mother
Is still a kid
